Playdates & Cookies.

Today the little guy and I attended a Fisher Price playdate. It was so much fun! Basically, a friend of mine signed up and Fisher Price sent her 5 new toys to try out. For free! So she invited a bunch of frends over and we hung out and played with our kids. It was a lot of fun. I hope to do playdates more often. Our little man was SO tired when he got home, he didn't even budge when I moved him from the carseat to the couch. I signed up for a group that does playdates and gets together. Hopefully its active so I can get out of this house once in awhile!

About a week and a half ago or so my lovely husband surprised me with a Kitchenaid Mixer! It's SO pretty. Bright red, just like everything else in my kitchen, and it most definitely matches my apple obsession. Here she is;

This mixer is seriously amazing.  Since I got it, I have pretty much been baking non-stop. Mostly cookies lol. But I also made a loaf of banana bread which was pretty delicious as well. I love to bake. And most of all, I love to EAT what I bake. Haha.

Tonight  made some Peanut Butter Chocolate Chunk cookies using this recipe;

Ingredients:

•1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened

•1/2 cup chunky or smooth peanut butter

•1/2 cup granulated sugar

•1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed

•1 egg

•1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

•1/2 teaspoon baking powder

•1/2 teaspoon baking soda

•1/4 teaspoon salt

•1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chunks or 1 cup chocolate chips

Preparation:

Preheat oven to 375°.

Cream the butter, peanut butter and sugars until light. Add the egg and mix until fluffy.
Blend the flour, baking powder, soda and salt together well. Add these dry ingredients to the butter mixture. Add the chocolate chips.
Drop cookie dough by teaspoonfuls onto lightly greased baking sheets. Bake for 10-12 minutes at 375°.

What's your favorite cookie recipe?

  1. I'm so jealous of your mixer. It's even in the color that matches all my kitchen stuff, LOL. Those cookies sound good. I'm making these for a Halloween party/playdate I already have scheduled in SC next month... http://picky-palate.com/2009/09/17/black-bottomed-mini-caramel-pumpkin-cheesecake-bites/
