my diaper obsession.

Oh my. I didn't realize just how much you can get obsessed with buying cloth diapers! I imagine it's much worse when you have a girl, because there are so many cute prints! Boys aren't as lucky, but I still love all the bright colors on Jacob. I started out my cloth diapering experience with 2 flip covers and 6 prefolds. I've since moved up in the world, ditched the prefolds [im not a fan], and invested some money in diapers I love. I am a pocket diaper type of girl. The stuffing doesn't bother me at all. I now have 11 diapers, which is enough for roughly a day and a half. I wash everyday, but it's not a big deal to me either. Speaking of laundry, what does everyone do for their wash routine? I fill up my washer with cold water, and do the soak option. Then I wash on hot. And then dry on air fluff.

I need new storage!

My favorite diaper by far is the Tots Bots Easy Fit. I have two of them, and they really can hold some pee! I hate to admit this, but the other day Jacob went 9 hours without a diaper change. He was wearing a Tots Bots and had NO leaks. His skin also felt dry. No redness or anything. There weren't any extra inserts or anything. So I am thinking it would be a great night time diaper with an insert stuffed in there too. I've just been too chicken to try it out lol. Maybe tomorrow night!

L to R; BumGenius 4.0, GoGreen pocket diaper, Bum Essentials Bumbino, Flip cover, Tots Bots Easy Fit, Fuzzibunz, Flip Cover, Kawaii Baby, Tots Bots Easy Fit, and lastly another Bum Essentials. Not pictured is my Happy Heinys which is currently in the wet bag

Yesterday I mastered putting cloth wipes in a container so they pop up like regular wipes. A friend reccomended California Baby Diaper Area spray. So I think I might give that a shot too. I figured why not. It's probably more effective at cleaning anyway.  The only downer to this is that my husband is just NOT comfortable with cloth diapering at all. He doesn't want anything to do with it. I tried to show him that it really is simple. You change his diaper just like a dispoable. Of course poop goes in the toilet but I don't see the big deal. Oh well. I do most of the diaper changes anyway!

I need motivation.

I have seriously been lacking in the motivation department with everything! Laundry. Cleaning. Blogging. Even getting dressed everyday. I think it's a mixture of the stress from Christmas, how cold it's been, and how crabby my little ray of sunshine has been lately. Hopefully this will pass soon.

The hubs started his new schedule this week. I kinda enjoy having my time at night. I'm not going to lie. It's just kinda hectic right now. He said soon he should be one day on, two days off. Rinse and repeat. That schedule will be pretty nice. I think I might surprise him and set up daycare for Jacob one day when he's off. Then we can go see a movie or something. We're much overdue for a mommy daddy date. We haven't been anywhere without Jacob since he's been born. I'm very attached to Jacob, and I hate leaving him. But I know I need to give myself a little bit of a break periodically.

I'm kind of excited. I just ordered a bum genius 4.0. I have noticed that I really like pocket diapers, and the tots bots diapers. I'd love to try so many other different diapers though. 'll just slowly have to build up a stash. So far I have one happy heinys, 2 flip covers, 6 flip inserts, one tots bots, and then the bum genius 4.0 which is on it's way. I'd love to try out some of the grovia diapers. And some fuzzibuns. And applecheeks too lol. Eventually I will get there. I also still need a diaper sprayer and to figure out a cloth wipe solution. I hear good things about this chubby cherubs stuff. I might give it a shot. Thoughts on that?  I found a you-tube video on how to fold your wipes so they come out like the diposables do. It's looks simple enough.

What do you guys have in your stash? Bonus if you post pictures!

My new favorite song!

I can't get enough of this song honestly. I could listen to it over and over. I really love the girls voice.

What's your favorite song?

Today was our first full day of cloth diapering. It went well. No leaks ;] I'm still scared to use them at night time. What do you ladies do for night time use? I was thinking maybe the Tots Bots diaper [which I REALLY love] with a flip insert stuffed in there too. I'm definitely getting more Tots Bots diapers. I'd love to have all the colors. They're so bright!

Also, I got a Happy Heiny's diaper but it didn't come with an insert. Could I just use a flip insert for it?

Cloth Diapers.

So as I have said before, I really wanted to get into cloth. The reality is, I am not one of those people who are anti-disposables. I am just tired of buying the things! I was sitting here thinking, if we plan to have another baby anytime in the next few years [which we do. Maybe 2012-2013ish?] why not invest in it now. Get a good stash going. Take good care of it. And use it for the next baby. That right that would save us tons. Especially in those early days when you're nursing baby poops every 2 seconds! So the other day I ordered a Tots Bots Easy Fit diaper. To be honest when I got it I was a little puzzled. But I figured it out [as you can tell I am VERY new to CD. I need someone to school me!]. So I prepped it like it said with some Rockin Green samples I had and I used it today. I really liked it. He didn't have it on long because we were going grocery shopping and so I changed him. But he was pretty cute in it I feel. I think I definitely want some more of the Tots Bots. I've also entered to win a whole bunch of other diapers. I am just hoping I at least get one!

I'm getting more and more into the Christmas spirit. I think I have most of our family figured out. I'm not sure what to get my MIL though. My mom is covered, our nieces and nephew, and my SIL. As far as the hubbs I am pretty sure I know what I am getting him. I can't say because he might read this and I don't want to spoil it! I also have a few ideas for stocking stuffers too. I'm not sure what he's getting me. He mentioned an IPad a few days ago but I told him absolutely not! I mean those things are cool and I would love to have one but I feel like we could spend that money in so many other places. We shall see! What are the top things on your Christmas list?

I also forgot to mention we took Jacob to see Santa about two weeks ago. It didn't go over so well! Here is last years picture, and this years!

He wouldn't let me go!
